MailOnline Travel's Robert Lang took a week-long road trip from LA to Sedona on a 6.5 hour drive through California's Palm Desert and on Arizona to photograph the south-west's highlights.

This is another shot taken while hiking the West Fork Trail in Oak Creek Canyon near Sedona, AZ. This is the Mayhew Lodge, or rather, what’s left of the Mayhew Lodge. Mayhew’s Lodge, built near the confluence of Oak Creek and the West Fork of Oak Creek, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
